Like all things Banks Power related, the Techni-Cooler Intercooler system for your 2001-2004 Duramax LB7 puts your stock parts to shame. Banks massively upgraded the boost tubes to their specialized 3" versions, changed the stock single plastic end tank to two larger, high-efficiency all aluminum tanks, developed wide-open inlet and outlets, and added a 25% larger core area. All of these combined mean a 34% improvement in volume over your stock system.
The Techni-Cooler system aggressively increases the cooling capacity by adding an abundance of cool, dense airflow. This dense air has more oxygen to allow for better combustion and engine efficiency. All of this results in a higher continuous power, more power regardless of EGT, and better fuel economy.
