Nearly every Duramax has a wheel hop issue right off of the factory floor. Even under stock power levels this wheel hopping can cause extremely costly repairs, including broken driveshafts, broken axle pinion yokes, premature u-joint failure and wearing of suspension components. On top of these issues anytime the wheel hops, it is not touching the pavement. If it is not touching the pavement, you're not getting traction!
Longhorn Fab Shop has created a simple, cost effective solution to the problem. These traction bars are affordable enough for the daily driver truck, yet strong enough for dedicated sled pullers and drag racers. Whether you drive your truck to watch the competition, or trailer it in because you ARE the competition, you'll love the strength, design, adjustability, and ease of installation.
KIT VARIATIONS: For owners of short bed vehicles, the bars measure out to 72" center hole to center hole, where long box owners will receive 86" bars. In order to be able to tailor these traction bars to nearly every driver and vehicle, Longhorn offers their brackets, as well as the rod ends in several variations. For trucks that are daily drivers, tow vehicles, and really don't see a lot of abuse, we recommend going with their standard series brackets and standard grade rod ends. But for those that either simply demand the best, or are hard on the trucks through aggressive takeoffs, sled pulling, etc. we recommend upgrading to the Professional Grade Brackets and Hot Street Rod Ends. And you can also mix and match depending on your particular preferences. If you're not sure which kit is right for you, just give us a call or shoot an e-mail our way, and we would be happy to steer you in the right direction.
