The ECM monitors the state of your DPF by using a pressure differential sensor in which two tubes are routed to your exhaust, one on each side of the DPF, and it takes a reading of the pressure differential between the two. This determines essentially how your DPF is of soot accumulation. At times, the pressure differential sensor needs to be replaced to read accurately. This is a genuine OE replacement sensor.
