Other than one electronic actuator, the rest of the actuation of the HVAC system relies on vacuum controlled actuators. Overtime, the actuator diaphragm can split or crack causing the actuator to not hold a vacuum. This is a direct Mopar replacement part and installs using the factory hardware.
