Fuel pressure is important to keeping your Cummins engine running smoothly, especially after you have made any upgrades to the fueling demand in your high-performance truck, such as with larger displacement injectors or a performance programmer. If fuel pressure isn't steady or drops off completely, you risk damaging what you spent a good part of a paycheck on. Adding on aftermarket lift pumps is crucial to keeping that fuel pressure as high, as it's needed but they run into the same issues after a tank gets to just a 1/4 full.
