XDP specifically designed this crank shaft pin kit to fix the all too common shearing of factory dowel pins, resulting in broken crank shafts. This kit can be used on stock or heavily modified vehicles. It has a very simple procedure that can be done by your average skilled mechanic.
Due to the poor design process of keying drive gears on the Duramax crank shaft, a random light vibration can be found during idle. This is found after dampers spin on the crank shaft snout by shearing the factory key. If you were to continue driving with this issue it can raise concerns in regards to harsh harmonics and balancing of the crank shaft. Key your Duramax crank shaft in your own driveway with your own tools.
