The Story
Make sure your rear freeze plug stay firmly mounted in your 2003-2018 Ram Cummins 5.9/6.7L engine with this bolt in freeze plug from XDP. Increased coolant pressure via high engine RPM, differences in cooling temperatures, a faulty freeze plug and other things can cause the factory plug to blow out. This kit eliminates that risk. This plug is constructed of CNC machined 6061 aluminum and features an o-ring gasket for a leak free seal.
The XDP Bolt-On Rear Freeze Plug is mounted to the back of the engine block via existing bolt holes. This kit includes the necessary hardware for installation and does not require the removal of the transmission. Also, this freeze plug is pre drilled and tapped to 3/4" NPT to work with most coolant bypass kits (3/4" NPT plug not included). If you are installing this on an engine that still has the factory plug in place, this kit would require the removal of the factory plug prior to installation.
