We are asked very frequently about how to extend the life of the 6.0L injectors. And while no one has determined a way to better build the injector itself, it has been evident that there are ways to increase the life of the injectors. Without a doubt, the best way to do this is by installing a regulated fuel return kit, such as this kit from Sinister Diesel. This system is designed to eliminate the factory dead-headed stock fuel rails and tie them together through a bypass fuel pressure regulator. Doing so, in turn, will ensure that you receive adequate fuel delivery through the heads, as well as eliminating any entrained air in the system. Air bubbles in the system, which are very common on the 6.0L's, is one of the biggest killers of injectors, thus by eliminating them, you will have a greater expected injector life.
This kit by Sinister Diesel is constructed from CNC machined billet aluminum and features steel braided fuel lines with nickel plated fittings. In addition, it also comes with a fuel pressure gauge that will allow you to adjust pressure to keep a constant fuel pressure, prolonging the injector life. As a bonus, the fuel lines and banjo bolts are larger than factory to reduce any bottle necks in the system.
