With the advent of drive by wire systems over the years, the delay in throttle response has caused a degradation of reaction time due to multiple signals being forced through numerous computers before fueling is actually applied. The Sprint Booster is a simple to install device with multiple options to substantially reduce and even eliminate this delay.
HOW IT WORKS:
Sprint Booster modifies the signal at the accelerator pedal, making your truck's throttle respond faster to your foot. Basically, it ramps up the signal once you apply pressure on the pedal faster than what the stock signal would normally do, telling your ECM to crank up the fueling faster, effectively reducing your idle to full throttle time by 25%.
By making the throttle respond faster, you will feel as though your truck has more muscle than it really does! This is especially evident in the low to mid RPM range where most vehicles spend their time on the street.
INSTALLATION IS A SNAP:
Sprint Boosters require no mechanical tools or know-how. Simply locate and remove the harness connector on the accelerator pedal, plug the Sprint Booster between the pedal and the harness connector and you're essentially done.
Each mode (SPORT - RACE) comes with 9 steps-program so the driver can choose the one that suits his driving style. Each program adjusts the response by 3-6% so it can be fully adjustable and customized by each driver.
Pedal Lock Mode provides extra protection against unauthorized vehicle use. The driver can deactivate the acceleration ability of the vehicle when it's stationary through a 3 digit PIN. When Pedal lock is enabled the acceleration gets disabled and the vehicle stays on idle until you enter the correct PIN
Valet Mode limits the acceleration of the vehicle by 55 % - 65% - 75% (comes in 3 selectable levels). It is activated/deactivated through a 3 digit PIN. By limiting the acceleration there will be a significant reduce in vehicle's performance (Power and Torque).
MEMORY:
Sprint Booster also offers the option to the driver to completely remove the switch from the device. In this case the device will work with the last settings stored in memory. For example , if the driver disconnects the selector switch while in SPORT-5 (SPORT mode- Acceleration program 5), the device will keep as default the program SPORT-5.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
For those with a 2006 model year, please confirm the size of your throttle plug at the pedal. If you have a two inch connector, this is the correct model. However, if you have a one inch connector, you will require part number SBDO1013S.
